Pool Too Hot?
Sometimes in the middle of summer, you may find that your pool is too hot to actually be refreshing. This can be the opposite of a pool that is too cold, but still make you not want to go swimming. There are a couple of things you can do to bring the temperature back down to comfortable.
Turn Down Your Heater
If your pool is heated, check your heater system to see what temperature it is set at. This may seem like a no-brainer, but sometimes the air temperature, mixed with direct sunlight on your pool can cause water temperatures to rise. Turning down (or off) your water heater can be a simple solution that can send your pool back to being refreshing.
Use Your Aerator
Most pools already have a place to screw in an aerator. An aerator uses a stream of water to cool down the temperature of your pool by a few degrees. There is usually a way to turn a knob on your pool’s filter system to activate the aerator. If you can’t find it or don’t see one, contact Pool Knights and we’ll be able to show you. Once you know how to use the system, it can be turned on to lower the temperature of your pool water by a few degrees. If won’t bring any miracles, but it will bring some relief.
If your pool consistently gets too hot, you may want to think about installing a pool cooling system. It works in a similar way as a heat pump in that it uses the air around the system and fans to cool down the temperature of the water. It can be expensive to install, but it is the most efficient way to decrease the temperature in your pool during the hot summer months.
